TIME FOR CHANGE

Dear Comrades

We are standing in this election because we believe it’s time for change at St Mungo’s Unite.

  • In recent years, membership has nosedived while the number of St Mungo’s employees has increased. We will work hard to stay in touch with members and non-members alike to increase our membership.
  • Pay – no pay increase for the current year is an outrage and a big pay cut in real terms. We will not rest until a fair pay agreement is reached.
  • The union should support members to improve their financial position in every way. This will include providing information on pensions, welfare rights and other issues relevant to members. Lower paid workers are often entitled to benefits on top of their wages but sometimes do not know they can claim.
  • We want to go back to the tradition in this shop that the convenor role is shared between two people. That means both people sharing the role are still working on the front line and sharing the experiences of rank and file members, rather than being full-time union officials.
  • We will run campaigns based on what the membership want.
  • We are dedicated trade unionists with 24 years experience as Unite reps at St Mungo’s between us.

Any member is more than welcome to contact us to discuss our campaign. If you want to help build the shop, please get in touch and join our campaign.
In comradeship
Jacob Sanders & David Oladele
