TLDR: vote here and reject the derisory 1.75% pay offer: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/6J32KV8
Dear Colleagues and Comrades
Pay campaignAs we all know, St Mungo’s workers do a vital job in providing for the needs of some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
At a time when even getting on a bus could present a health risk, frontline workers continued coming into the workplace to ensure that their essential, skilled tasks were completed. Our clients are more vulnerable to COVID than the great majority of people and therefore more at risk of passing it on to others. Workers face that risk every day.
The value of money is in what you can buy with it, so with inflation at 7.8%, the 1.75% pay rise offered by St Mungo’s is a PAY CUT in real terms. The UNITE Reps team recommends that you vote in the online ballot to reject that derisory offer. Once again, here’s the link to vote www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/6J32KV8.Do St Mungo’s most senior staff think a 1.75% pay increase is right, at a time when inflation is 7.8%? Not always. Chief Executive Steve Douglas has awarded himself a 13% pay increase. His pay rise is more than some St Mungo’s workers’ total annual wages.
UNITE is campaigning for the 10% pay increase we deserve. Please put up the attached poster in your workplace and make your views clear.
