Have a heart, St Mungo’s

Dear St Mungo’s Leadership Team and BoardUnite members at St Mungo’s would like to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day.

The work we do for our clients comes from a place of care and compassion, and our respect for St Mungo’s is founded on concern for their needs.

Recently, workers have started to feel neglected to the point that many are wondering whether their regard for St Mungo’s is reciprocated. To be honest, workers feel taken for granted, when they put so much into the employment relationship and their needs seem to count for so little. Communication has not always been entirely open, especially where shared financial concerns are involved.

We feel that some commitment is required from St Mungo’s leadership so that the spark is not lost. We would like to feel that St Mungo’s appreciates us, and we would love to be able to pay our rent without worrying about whether we will be able to afford the groceries.

So this is our appeal to you: please, have a heart. We want this relationship to work, but sometimes we need a reminder that bosses care.
