Dear friends
For the next couple of hours, your Unite reps will be making the last few calls in the current stage of our campaign for a decent pay increase for us all. The pay ballot closes at 8pm, and we hope it will show that Unite members are not going to accept the pathetic 1.75% pay offer.
While this vote has nearly concluded, the pay campaign will continue until we are successful and is likely to involve further phone calls in the months to come.
A few points to remember if you get a phone call:
- Be kind. You’re being asked for a couple of minutes of your time – remember that the person phoning you is giving up an evening or several, to protect the rights of the whole membership.
- It will probably be brief. When we need to talk to many members, each member usually gets a call lasting 2 or 3 minutes.
- It’s fine to disagree. We want to know what members think and we can all express differing opinions in a friendly way. If there is anything you want to discuss at greater length, we might arrange another call where we can have a longer conversation.
If you want to change your privacy settings, you can do so by logging on to the Unite website: https://myunite.unitetheunion.org/login.
If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact me.
Best wishes,
Jacob Sanders
